Editor in chief:

Professor Bogusław Gediga, in years 1955-2003 employed at Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, (PASc), and in 1992-2003 also at Institute of History of Art of Wroclaw University as the head of the Department of Prehistoric and Medieval Art. Field of studies: prehistoric and early Medieval archaeology of Europe, prehistoric art, religions of prehistoric societies and pre-Christian Slavic religion. Over 350 publications including 9 books (out of which 4 are collective works). Since 1973 (vol. 21 from 1973 “Przegląd Archeologiczny”- “Archaeological Review”) member of Editorial Board of Archaeological Review the annual journal of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology PASc. and since Vol. 39 from 1992 till now Editor-in-Chief. Head of the archaeological excavations at many sites. Since 1971 till now (with a several-year-long break) member of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, since 2017, the Council’s Chairman.

Since 1993 member of the Pre- and Protohistoric Sciences Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences, for several tenures member of the Presidium, and since 2011 Chairman of the Committee. Member of many scientific boards, holding numerous positions, including – correspondent member of German Archaeological Institute, Institute of Archaeology of Slovakian Academy of Science, Wrocław Scientific Society, from 1986 till 1993 Chairman of II Department of Historical and Philosophical Sciences. Awarded numerous medals and distinctions, including Knight’s and Officer’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
